Dr. Evan Brown is from Michigan and attended the University of Michigan earning his degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu engineering honors society. He made a switch to his father’s profession of dentistry when he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. He went on to specialize in Orthodontics, earning his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate at the selective Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester in upstate New York.
Dr. Brown believes in continuous learning and has completed many orthodontic courses since graduating, including the FACE (Functional and Cosmetic Excellence) and JSOP (Just Short of Perfect) programs. He is a member of the Missouri Dental Association, American Dental Association, and American Association of Orthodontists. He is an active member of the Greater Saint Louis Dental Society holding many positions: house of delegates, committee on membership, leadership development committee, and MOMOM committee (Missouri Mission of Mercy - a free dental clinic). Dr. Brown is joining the craniofacial team at Mercy Hospital which involves treating children with the most complicated cases in orthodontics and orthopedics (growth).
He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics; a Board Certified Orthodontist is a designation that only about a third of orthodontists nationwide have attained. Dr. Brown uses the newest technology including in-house 3D printed aligners, 3D printed braces, high technology self-ligating braces, indirect bonding of braces designed positioned digitally for the best accuracy, digitally simulated treatment outcomes, Invisalign aligners for cases of varying difficulties, and much more.
Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with his wife, Shuka, and newborn son, Kasra. They enjoy all the events in and around Saint Louis and being part of the community. You may find Dr. Brown (and his wife) doing many outdoor activities including wakeboarding, water skiing, hiking, and snowboarding or chasing their son around.
